Why Decorate with Exotic Angel® Plants

Why Decorate with Exotic Angel® Plants

Houseplants, including the Exotic Angel® collection are perfect home décor because they look good with everything. It’s amazing how easily indoor plants accent every decorating style, from super clean and contemporary to the comfy and casual country look. And you can use them in every room of your home, making plants a great way to make your home décor more cohesive.

Houseplants in the Kitchen

Houseplants in the Kitchen

Because indoor plants are so good at removing odors and other VOCs from the air, they’re ideal for keeping your kitchen looking -- and smelling -- clean and fresh. Use varieties that love lots of light in your windowsills; low-light types are fabulous for counters and tabletops. Bonus: Most houseplants like the extra humidity commonly found in kitchens.

Houseplants as a Focal Point

Houseplants as a Focal Point

Houseplants are ideal accents in our décor, but you can also transform them into show-stopping centerpieces. An easy way to do that is to grow them in a decorative terrarium or cloche to draw more attention to the plants. (Bonus: Vessels like this are also a great strategy for keeping plants healthy!) You can use practically anything that fits your look and lets light in (but isn’t air-tight; plants need to breathe).

Houseplants in the Bathroom

Bathrooms are another area we don’t typically think of putting houseplants. But they’re often the best environment for an air-purifying Exotic Angel® plant or two. Ferns, in particular, thrive in the high humidity often found in this room. It’s easy to make a fun display by placing small varieties, such as silver lace fern, on a shelf so they’re up, out of the way.

Create a Collection

Create a Collection

Houseplants are beautiful on their own, but I think the Exotic Angel® collection looks best when you mix-and-match different varieties together. They appear more natural -- after all, you rarely see a plant all by itself in nature. And, a cute little grouping gives you the opportunity to combine colors and textures for an extra special touch.

Houseplants in the Bedroom

Houseplants in the Bedroom

Scientific research proves plants help us relax physically (for example, being around plants has been shown to lower our blood pressure) and mentally. So they’re perfect picks for the bedroom. Add an easy-care houseplant or two on your bedside table or dresser to take in the good vibes. One way to make your plants feel right at home is to use a great container that accents their color or texture.

Decorate Your Dining Room

Decorate Your Dining Room

Whether you eat at your dining room table every night or just special occasions, it’s the perfect place to host a collection of Exotic Angel® houseplants. If your dining room table doesn’t get a lot of light, look for plants that don’t need the sun to thrive. A few of our favorites include nerve plant, snake plant, and ZZ plant.
Here’s a hint: Make dinner parties more magical by giving the plants as parting gifts.

Hang Them Up

Hang Them Up

I often hear from folks who want houseplants but are afraid their children or pets will get into them. One easy, space-saving solution is to elevate them out of reach. Get a simple bracket and screw it into the wall next to or just above a window so your houseplants can hang out. Putting houseplants in front of a window like this takes just minutes and can also help add a little privacy to your home.

Tie in Fun Containers

Tie in Fun Containers

Another way to incorporate houseplants in your décor theme is to choose fun containers. Just about anything that holds soil will do. Vessels that allow excess water to drain make houseplant care easier, though. Here, for example, we housed a kangaroo fern in a large shell to go with the nautical look in the rest of the room.

Update Your Mantle

Update Your Mantle

A mantle can be the ideal place to showcase a collection of Exotic Angel® plants (as long as it doesn’t get too hot or cold). It keeps your favorite plants up and out of reach, and makes them look like living pieces of art. Ensure your spaces stay chic by changing the houseplants you display with the seasons.
