Harnessing renewable energy

Plants need sunshine to grow--and our growing facilities and corporate offices are located in some of the sunniest spots on Earth.

The solar panels installed on the roof of Costa Farms corporate headquarters produce 26% of the energy used by Costa Farms in this location.

We power our growth with the sun

Costa Farms’ solar panels produce 360,000 kwh/year, which grows plants and ideas in our green houses and offices.

This amount is enough to power 33 houses a year.

The result of solar panel energy production has reduced the CO2 emissions by 810 metric tons a year.

We save trees by recycling

Plant production results in the use of cardboard and paper.

But we recycle as much of these materials as we can.

In 2019, we recycled 189 tons of cardboard and paper.

That equates to 3,213 trees saved.

We recycle plastic

In 2019, we recycled 1,930 tons of plastic.

This is the equivalent of 69,480,000 plastic 16-ounce bottles.
