Ajuga (Ajuga)
Ajuga Plant Features
Ajuga is a vigorous, ground-hugging perennial that will quickly carpet all the shady or partially shady spots in your garden with color. Growing just 6 inches tall, ajuga is almost maintenance free and comes in a number of different varieties with either green, purple, or multi-colored foliage. As a bonus, all ajugas also sport petite stalks of blue, pink, or white flowers in the spring. Hardy in zones 3-9.Ajuga Questions?

Ajuga Growing Instructions
Plant ajuga in a shady or partially shady location with rich, slightly moist soil. Space the plants 8 to 12 inches apart and in a year or two they should fill in completely creating a colorful ground cover for borders or slopes. Ajuga also makes a great container plant, especially in the spring and fall when the weather is too cool for summer annuals. Because ajuga is so low to the ground, good weed control is especially important. Mulch ajuga immediately after planting with a thick layer of shredded bark to prevent weeds from smothering young plants.Ajuga is not intended for human or animal consumption.
