Bachelor's buttons is a sun-loving perennial that grows 1 to 2 feet tall with fringed white, pink, or blue flowers appearing in early summer. The plants can be a bit floppy so some staking may be necessary. Hardy from zone 3-8.

Plant bachelor's buttons in a rich, well-drained soil. If happy these plants can spread and will naturalize an area. But, don't worry, they are easy to control if you want to keep them in one spot. To keep the plants tidy, remove the faded flowers as they appear. This may also encourage a second season of bloom in the fall. Bachelor's buttons needs full sun to prosper.
