The long, elegant stems of perennial sunflower also make terrific cut flowers for fresh bouquets. Perennial sunflower is also drought resistant and popular with pollinators. Hardy from zones 4-8.

Sunflower, Perennial Growing Instructions

Plant perennial sunflower in an open area that receives at least 6 to 8 hours of sun a day. Water whenever the soil feels dry to the touch, but once established, perennial sunflower rarely needs supplemental irrigation. To promote continued bloom, clip flowers as they fade. As the summer winds down, allow the flowers to mature so that local songbirds can feast on the seeds.
