Plant Bio

Aglaonema Spathonema

Our Plant Hunter first found this stunning Aglaonema variety more than seven years ago and we’re pleased to be able to bring it to you now. We named it Spathonema because it physically reminds us of a variegated Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum) due to its leaf shape and upright habit. Like other Aglaonema varieties, it’s incredibly durable indoors, able to survive a wide range of homes and offices, including low light and low humidity.

Like most aroid houseplants, while it tolerates low light, it loves a bright spot and grows best within 3 to 4 feet of an unobstructed east- or west-facing window. It prefers average household temperatures and humidity levels (40 percent or more is ideal, but not necessary to be successful with this plant). Water as the half or so of the potting mix dries to the touch. Avoid overwatering and keep it away from hot or cold drafts.

Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.
